How long have you been doing eyelash extensions for?I took my eyelash extension course in April 2018 at Graceful Lashes (Canada’s Lash and Brow Academy) in Barrie, Ontario. I completed my certification process in June 2018 and have been doing lashes out of my home office since I finished my certification.

How long does it take to apply?Depending on the type of eyelash extensions you get, a full set can take 1.5-2.5 hours. A fill on a current eyelash set is also dependent on type of lash set you have and how many weeks in between appointments. These fills can take 45 mins – 2 hours.
-
There are different types of eyelash extensions to choose from?Yes!! I offer four different types of eyelash extension types to choose from: Classic silk - used for a natural classy look, where one lash extension is attach to one natural eyelash. Eclipse flat silk – for a bolder, thicker look and with the flat base they last longer than the classic. Hybrid silk – a mixture of classic and volume eyelash extensions for the best of both worlds Volume silk – Thinner silk eyelash extensions that are added in multiples to each individual natural eyelash in a fan shape to create a thicker, fluffier lash line.
-
How often do I have to come back? This depends on how well you take care of your extensions, along with how many natural eyelashes you have. The eyelash shedding cycle averages about 60 days, from just emerging to full grown and resting stage, before it falls out to make room for the next one! On average, we lose 2-3 natural lashes a day. The average number of full grown lashes is between 80-120. If you have 100 full grown resting stage lashes, by week three, that’s about 40-50 eyelashes that will have shed. This leaves gaps and new lashes ready for an extension to be applied. You can choose to come get a fill between 2, 3 and 4 weeks.
-
What do you attach the extensions to?I attach one classic or 3-4 volume eyelash extensions to each full grown natural eyelash

Does getting the lash extensions applied hurt?I strive to make the process as enjoyable and painless as possible!!! It is a painless process as long as you keep your eyes closed throughout the application, so don’t load up on caffeine before coming! This can cause your eyes to flutter during the process and the fumes from the glue can cause a stinging/ watering sensation for a few moments. This can also happen when the application is complete, but subsides within a minute. Our eyelashes are designed to protect our eyes from damage and can takes your motor skills a moment to recalibrate what we’ve done.

Does this hurt my natural eyelashes? Do I ever need to take a break from getting eyelash extensions?Done by a certified eyelash extension technician ( always do your research ladies!!! Your eye are too important to trust to just anybody!!!) there is ZERO damage done to your natural eyelashes. You don’t ever have to take a break from getting extensions put on because a certified lash tech will 1) apply a lash extension that is the right weight for your lash line 2) will apply an extension to each individual natural eyelash so it is able to shed appropriately and not take any other natural lashes with it and c) will apply extensions only the fully grown lashes at your fill appointments.
-
How do I take care of them? After a new eyelash application, I send home a list of aftercare instructions for taking care of your extensions. These include not getting them wet for 24-48 hours after they are first applied to ensure the adhesive cures properly, washing them 3x a week to keep your lash line healthy, and a brush to keep them straight and beautiful!
-
How do I take them off if I decide I don’t want them anymore?Eyelash technicians have a solution to dissolve the adhesive and remove them for you. Please don’t try to take them off yourself!
-
Can you do your own eyelashes?I wish! Due to the glue fumes, I cannot apply them with my eyes open. I go to The Lashroom Boutique in Tottenham ON and see Ariel! She is excellent.
-
Do you take debit or credit?I sure do! Cash, debit, credit and e transfer are all acceptable forms of payment.
